In modern society, there is a significant advance of theory from the practice. In the context of the ongoing processes of transformation of folklore, accompanied by both the emergence of new objects of research and the actualization of interdisciplinary research, it seems timely to present a problem statement of improving the analytical tools of the science of oral folk art. The aim of the study is to consider the multifaceted phenomenon of folklore as a complex self-organizing system-organism, its relevance with the basic principles of synergetics, and then to generalize the positive experience of using the synergetic method in related humanitarian fields of scientific knowledge. The work uses an interdisciplinary systematic approach, contrastive- comparative and inductive analyzes. The author concludes that the general scientific method of synergetics can be applied as a resear chstrategy in folklore, it is capable to shed light on the problem of the nature of the elemental self-organization of folklore

The paper addresses the problem of studying the concept of ichchi (master spirit) of things, objects, and natural phenomena, representing a significant layer of mythopoetic representations in the Sakha culture. The research materials included both the epic texts of оlonkho and mythological texts, with some of them being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The novelty of the research is considering the concept under study as a subsystem of folklore, which adapts and reconstructs itself in response to social and historical realities. Moreover, it is suggested to regard the emerging ichchi of modern times as new products of urban culture. An attempt is made to verify the semantics of mythopoetic views by considering natural science theories and to rationalize the metaphorical language of the epic olonkho. The paper offers a comprehensive definition of ichchi, delving into the prerequisites for its emergence, genesis, and development and exploring the distinctive connection it has with human creative activity. It is stated that the creative individual plays a central role in converting natural elements into human culture, specifically in cultivating nature. In this process, the ichchi of objects, things, and phenomena are also somewhat “cultivated” and transformed into the focal points of an individual’s dual worldview. The author suggests a systematization of the varieties of ichchi based on the juxtapositions of two modes of existence: nature and culture.

This work is devoted to the problem of integrating scientific knowledge with the use of systematic methodology in research. The relevance of addressing the problem is due to the insufficient implementation of post-non-classical approaches in modern folklore studies. The level of knowledge of human culture today is increasingly demanding the synthesis of knowledge from different disciplines to expand the boundaries of worldview. The purpose of the study is to update the conceptual foundations of systematic research of mythological texts, and then to identify the real core of the myth of the Aal Luuk Mas world tree in the light of natural science theory. The materials for the analysis are extracted from the epic texts of Olonkho, where the mythological views of the Sakha ancestors are most fully preserved. Scientific novelty is seen in the very formulation of the problem of integrating knowledge and methods in the study of images of the mythological canvas of olonkho texts. The principle of integrity serves as the leading principle in the study, and a systematic approach is implemented. Structural and semantic analysis, the method of mutual interpretation of myth and science, methods of demetaphorization, dehyperbolization of the mythological image are applied. The author clarified that the approach is based on a number of concepts of the scientific paradigm “nature-man-thinking-creation”. It is proposed to introduce into folklore research the consideration of the problems of humanitarianism and myth, and science in the context of the integral field of human culture, which is possible to provide a multidimensional result of research. As a result of the analysis, the content of the ancient image of Aal Luuk Mas appears in a new light, in the form of the most important cosmic process – the spiral dynamics of systems of celestial bodies. It is emphasized that the main cosmic function of the mythological image of the Aal Luuk Mas tree as a driving principle is to ensure the dynamics, integrity and unity of the Universe at all levels of matter (microcosm, macrocosm, and megaworld). The author concludes that the results obtained contribute to the revision and possible adoption of the scientific image of the phenomenon of “spiral motion” in the form of a projection of the “psychological universal and archetype” (S. Yu. Neklyudov) mythological representations of ancient people

The article focuses on analyzing how the image of the spirit-mistress of the earth has evolved over time. The study has revealed that the image was created by combining elements from various historical periods. The oldest stratum leads us to the image of the ancient Stone Age civilization, with its polyfunctional and multicomponent nature reflecting the syncretic worldview of ancient people who endowed it with astral, vegetative, and chthonic features. The Neolithic image of perception is associated with the first “offshoots” of functions from a single prototype. Subsequently, genetically related images of the spirits of forest, hunting, vegetative forces, fire, childbearing, and cattle litter appeared. A higher level of abstraction was characterized by the images of wisdom and mind, the creative principle, and the thunderer. The image under study demonstrates the stability of its function as a patronage of the fruit-bearing forces of nature, dating back to ancient times. During the Bronze Age, the prototype was enriched with the new idea of the reincarnation cycle of the human soul and the pathos of immortality. The patriarchy promoted the emergence of male images of spirits-masters of the earth later to be assigned the role of innovative “cultural creations” in the bosom of the earth. The final shape of the anthropomorphic image of the mistress of the earth was formed only in the early twentieth century due to the widespread collectivization in the USSR

This article is a logical continuation of a previous study, “The image of the spirit-mistress of the earth in the Olonkho epic. Part 1: Static and dynamic characteristics,” which identified the composition of stable features of the image. The current study aims to verify the ancient roots of the anthropomorphic representation of the mistress of the earth in the context of the archaic worldview. To achieve this, the author utilized structural-semiotic and functionalsemantic types of analysis, as well as empathy and hermeneutics methods. The analysis reveals various historical layers in the image, reflecting the features of archaic strata of consciousness, specifically magism, totemism, fetishism, and animism. Additionally, the study uncovers the prerequisites for the formation of the image, represented by the elements of ancient cosmogony. The prototype of the image features a fused binary opposition of the feminine and masculine principles, with phytomorphic, ornithomorphic, and zoomorphic hypostases of the early layers of the image. Currently, there appears to be a significant demand for addressing the image of Mother Earth. This study was intended to identify the main characteristics of the image of the spirit–mistress of the earth, Aan Alakhchyn Khotun, in the olonkho epic. Use was made of the structural, functional, and semantic analysis, as well as of the review and generalization, with the principle of historicism being the key one. The analysis has revealed the following stablesigns of the image: being a female, a predominance of white color, nudity of breasts, elegant clothes, localization in the world tree, divine origin, and the functions of a nurse, protector, or adviser. A cane and a ladle in her hands or ashamanic tambourine and a mallet have been found to be characteristic attributes of the appearance. The natural prima materia and, in some texts, the anthropomorphic images (little people) of Ereke-Dyereke tend to accompany the arrival of Aan Alakhchyn Khotun. Emphasis is placed on the ornithomorphic hypostasis of the spirit of the words of the image in the form of a cuckoo. The early records demonstrate the phytomorphic hypostasis of the image in question in the form of a fusion of the images of the spirit of the tree and the hostess of the place. A conclusion is drawn that the semantic features of the image of Aan Alakhchyn Hotun reflect the multi-temporal nature of their historical appearances, suggesting further genetic studies to explore the archaic image of the spirit-mistress of the earth
