In the article, based on the field researches of the authors, the main parameters of the level and quality of life, social well-being of traditional Northern communities are analyzed on the example of the residents of village Tas-Yuiyakh, Yuryakh, Mimy area, since the mid-1970s, it was located at the epicenter of the active industrial development of diamonds, oil and gas in Western Yakutia. Assessing the current socio-economic situation in the village, the authors identified both positive and negative aspects of the impact of the development of mining industries on the indigenous population of the Russian North. Sociological data of household research allowed to define the features of the formation and distribution of income of villagers, their relationship with the level of education, family composition and employment. In general, a sufficiently high degree of technical equipment of farms and the percentage of employment, including at the production facilities of mining companies, indigenous residents of Tas-Yuiyakh, the associated opportunities for their high mobility, the authors, however, note the difficulties encountered and the ambiguous nature of the assessment of their real incomes.

We analyze variations of lightning activity presented by the lightning stroke number obtained by the World Wide Lightning Location Network (WWLLN) within the territory with boundaries 40-80° N and 60-180° E in 2009-2016. There are two regions with high lightning activity: western (48-60° N, 60-90° E) and eastern (40-55° N, 110-140° E). The lightning stroke density in these regions is 10-100 times higher than that in surrounding areas. The comparison between daily variations of lightning stroke number and the 10.7 cm solar radio flux shows no correlation: the linear correlation coefficient varied from -0.55 to 0.86 in the western region and from -0.78 to 0.39 in the eastern region during all summer seasons. During the ascending phase of solar cycle 24, there was a spatial lightning redistribution between the western and eastern regions of high lightning activity. During peaks of the solar cycle and its descending phase, the redistribution was not so pronounced as that during the ascending phase.

We analyze time profiles of isotropic intensity, components of vector and tensor anisotropies of cosmic rays (CR) when Earth crosses the neutral sheet of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) in solar activity cycles 23-24. The moments of the crossings are determined from Wilcox Observatory synoptic charts and IMF data. Periods of Forbush decreases and ground level enhancements are excluded from the analysis. The events are analyzed for the epochs of positive and negative signs of the Sun’s general magnetic field. During each epoch, the crossings from the positive sector to the negative one and vice versa are separated. In total, 213 crossing events have been selected. The first two spherical harmonics of the angular CR-distribution are obtained using the global survey method. In each case, the average number of stations is equal to 32. The analysis shows that the temporal change of the isotropic component is caused by a magnetic mirror. For the first time, the zonal harmonics are reliably distinguished, and the existence of the antisymmetric diurnal CR-variation in a low energy range, which is oriented along IMF, is recognized. We compare our results with those obtained earlier.

The observable anisotropy of cosmic rays has first been decomposed into zonal harmonics and components of vector and tensor anisotropy. We examine Forbush decreases in cosmic rays that occurred in November 2001 and November 2004. It is shown that at the beginning of a Forbush decrease an antisunward convective current of cosmic rays predominates; and during the recovery phase, a sunward diffusive current of particles along the interplanetary magnetic field dominates. During the phase of intensity drop, short-time decreases in the second zonal harmonic take place. These decreases occur with abrupt changes of the interplanetary magnetic field intensity and solar wind speed. During the passage of large-scale solar wind disturbances, the tensor anisotropy behaves in a complicated way. To explain its behavior, a further detailed investigation is required.
